Anna Dell “AD” Williams Johnson obtained her undergraduate degree from Florida Normal College,1946 (currently Florida Memorial University), followed by graduate studies at Columbia University’s Teachers College. She dedicated over 35 years to education, serving as a first-grade instructor in Homestead, FL, which included a farming migrant community and later in the predominantly African American community of Goulds, Florida. To differentiate herself from other educators with the surname Williams, she was referred to as Ms. AD.
